Gudie Leisure Farm Shines at the Mastercard Foundation Participants Showcase in Uganda

In a transformative display of innovation and impact, Gudie Leisure Farm proudly represented Uganda’s vibrant agricultural landscape at the Mastercard Foundation Participants Showcase, held on the 23rd of October, 2023, at the esteemed Serena Hotel. The event was attended by the visiting Mastercard Foundation Executive Committee and several stakeholders in the region.

The Mastercard Foundation embarked on a visionary journey in 2019 with its Young Africa Works Strategy, aiming to empower 30 million young Africans with dignified work opportunities by 2030. In Uganda, this mission aspires to reach 4.3 million young people, focusing on the empowerment of young women.

Gudie Leisure Farm, among the Foundation’s esteemed partners, stood tall among a collection of innovative solutions and impactful initiatives showcased at the event. Each partner meticulously exhibited their programs and activities in uniquely designed stalls, presenting an array of engaging experiences and insights.

At the heart of Gudie Leisure Farm’s exhibit was Nakabinga Rashad, a remarkable 22-year-old agripreneur champion hailing from Ndagwe Subcounty, Lwengo District. Rashad captivated the audience with her live rabbit exhibit, alongside products from her farm, such as maize flour and honey. Her compelling story illuminated the transformative impact of the program on her life, attracting numerous visitors eager to witness firsthand the success story of a young agripreneur.

The Uganda participant showcase was a testament to collaborative efforts, inspirational narratives, and tangible change. The Foundation’s partners and participants showcased unwavering dedication to fostering positive change in Uganda and across Africa. Through partnerships like these, the Mastercard Foundation is empowering young people, providing pathways out of poverty and towards a brighter future.
