At Gudie Leisure Farm, we champion gender equality through the dedicated efforts of our Gender Equality Committee (GEC). Committed to fostering equality in all our endeavors, the GEC plays a pivotal role in driving awareness and education on gender-related issues, with a particular focus on combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Part of our commitment to addressing this critical issue involves comprehensive training sessions specifically designed for youth, shedding light on the complexities of gender-based violence and its impact on both genders, be it female or male.
By conducting these educational sessions, we aspire to create communities free from the scourge of gender-based violence.
During the recent Busoga Region Spotlight event, youth attendees had the invaluable opportunity to participate in an illuminating session on gender-based violence. The session covered a spectrum of crucial topics, including:
- Defining Gender-Based Violence: Understanding the breadth and depth of actions that constitute gender-based violence.
- Identifying Causes: Exploring the underlying causes and factors contributing to gender-based violence.
- Understanding Effects: Delving into the profound impact and repercussions of gender-based violence on individuals and communities.
- Preventive Measures: Equipping attendees with preventive strategies and measures to combat gender-based violence effectively.
At Gudie Leisure Farm, we recognize that gender-based violence is a stark reality, affecting numerous lives within our communities. By conducting these educational sessions, we aspire to create communities free from the scourge of gender-based violence. Our ultimate vision is to empower our regions’ youth with knowledge and resources to actively prevent and eradicate gender-based violence, fostering inclusive and safe environments for all.
Together, we stand against gender-based violence, paving the way towards a brighter, more equitable future for all.
