One such inspiring individual is Kyengyagala Ziad, a thriving entrepreneur who underwent training in his division. Ziad, a Peri-Urban Youth Agripreneur Champion (YAC), received comprehensive training at the Parish Entrepreneurship Learning Association (PELA). Armed with newfound knowledge and skills, he embarked on a journey that has significantly impacted the local economy and community.

As a value chain actor, Ziad actively engages with agriculture products sourced from fellow youth entrepreneurs. His restaurants, specializing in fish and chicken dishes, serve as nodes in the agricultural value chain, consuming substantial quantities of locally produced goods. Every day, he utilizes half a sack of Irish potatoes and at least 5 trays of eggs, fostering economic opportunities for fellow young farmers.
Moreover, Ziad is not only an employer but a champion of livelihoods, providing jobs for five youths, contributing to their financial sustenance, and empowering them with meaningful employment.
Beyond economic contributions, Ziad is deeply ingrained in the social fabric of the community. He actively participates in economic activities, paying rent, and significantly contributing to the local economy. His role extends further as an influencer and mentor, guiding and inspiring other aspiring entrepreneurs in their journey towards success.
Ziad’s commitment to financial empowerment is evident through his diligent savings habits. He regularly saves in his local savings and credit cooperative (SACCO) and contributes to social funds, highlighting his dedication to fostering financial stability and community growth.
