On Sunday, October 6th, Gudie Leisure Farm celebrated the graduation of 34 District Multimedia Managers after an intensive and hands-on training program. This transformative course aimed at equipping the Multimedia Managers with the knowledge, tools, and skills they need to drive digital change in their communities.
The training immersed participants into the evolving world of Videography, Photography, Graphics Design, Social Media Marketing, Blogging, and practical application of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Learning (MERL) techniques. With the tools gained, the new Multimedia Managers are now empowered to shine a spotlight on the positive activities happening in their respective districts and regions.
Each District Multimedia Manager has been assigned clear deliverables, which they will execute across various content categories including MERL, Marketing, News, Tourism, Edutainment, Talent Development, Publications, and Contentpreneurship. Key areas of focus include:
- Youth Agripreneur Champion (YAC) Ten Metrics of Growth
- YAC Journeys
- Online Market and Digital Warehouse
- Parish Enterprise Learning Association (PELA) News
- Weekly Newsletter Contributions
- Tourism Stories
- Songs and Video Production
- Social Media Campaigns
- Creation of Flyers and Posters
These Multimedia Managers are expected to play a crucial role in documenting the impactful stories of Youth Agripreneurs (YACs), showcasing innovation, talent, and entrepreneurship happening across their communities. They will not only contribute to the visibility of local success stories but also engage their districts with inspiring content that promotes agritourism, edutainment, and local business ventures.
“What is happening in the Districts and regions can now be captured when it’s happening and where it is happening,” Dr Gudula Naiga Basaza who is the founder and managing director of Gudie Leisure Farm said.
During the training, each District Multimedia Manager received a comprehensive digital toolkit, which included a smartphone, wireless microphone, tripod stand, power bank, and memory card. These tools will enable them to record, produce, and share high-quality content with ease.
The youth were filled with excitement and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Gudie Leisure Farm for the opportunity to participate in this groundbreaking training. They recognized the invaluable support and equipment they have received, which will empower them to elevate their communities and transform their personal and professional lives.
